Junior Operational Buyer

As a Junior Operational Buyer at Scarabee, you will be responsible for the procurement process and managing supplier relationships. You will support the team by ensuring that all necessary materials and services are available on time and under the best conditions. We are looking for team players who can support our team from our headquarters in Hoofddorp.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the administrative procurement process.
  • Actively contribute to the procurement process and identify market opportunities.
  • Consult with involved departments and suppliers.
  • Proactively monitor the progress of deliveries.
  • Coordinate as needed to resolve issues.
  • Report to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Work in a small, close-knit team with enthusiasm to achieve optimal results.

Tasks:

  • Manage the entire procurement cycle, from identifying needs to receiving goods.
  • Complete administrative handling of the PO flow.
  • Issue orders under existing contracts.
  • Contribute to the development and assembly of a preferred supplier base.
  • Manage the item database.
  • Request and evaluate quotes.
  • Translate project needs into procurement orders.
  • Follow up with suppliers regarding deliveries.
  • Discuss quality requirements and technical specifications with internal requesters.
  • Continuously improve procurement processes.
  • Collaborate with staff from the Logistics, Engineering, and Projects departments.

Who Are You?

  • You possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree level of thinking and working.
  • Preferably, you have experience in a similar role in a technical environment (entry-level candidates with the right aptitude and interest are also welcome).
  • You have knowledge and experience in procurement.
  • You have an affinity for technology.
  • You have excellent command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
  • You have advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Excel.
  • You find satisfaction in creating and maintaining an organized and up-to-date administration.
  • You have experience in process improvement.
  • A Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt certification is a plus.
