Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, the Netherlands

Our Smart Security Lane was originally developed in close cooperation with Schiphol Airport during their renewal process towards a centralised security concept.

Since 2015, a total of 85 Smart Security Lanes have been installed, divided over multiple checkpoints at Schiphol Airport. With our Smart Security Checkpoint solutions, we have enabled Schiphol Airport to improve their security screening process for its increasing volume of travellers. Although staying compliant with increasingly stringent security regulations, we have gained increased passenger throughputs by making this screening process more intuitive for passengers and security agents.

All our Smart Security Lanes are equipped with modern CT scanners, which significantly improves the screening process but overall secures a safe and continuous flow of passengers through the security checkpoint area. One of these security checkpoint areas, consists of 35 Smart Security Lanes and is considered to be one of the world’s largest security checkpoint installations.

The Scarabee Aviation Group service team is responsible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for maintaining these Smart Security Lanes to safeguard an optimal condition of these assets. In 2024, our product specialists have developed a range of upgrade modules which can be retrofitted into these existing Smart Security Lanes.

The main goal was to extend both the economical, as well as the technical life of our Smart Security Lanes considering the latest regulations as well as sustainability aspects to keep these Smart Security Lanes in operation for the next decade.

The Scarabee Aviation Group will continue to develop and implement sustainable security checkpoint solutions for valued (inter)national airports and will further strengthen its cooperation with partners, to remain the leading provider of airport smart security checkpoint solutions.
